Milton is essentially a giant suburb of Pensacola. People who live in Milton usually work in Pensacola or are retired. Commuters use Highway 90 (going through Pace) or I-10 to get to and from their job. A big reason why residents choose to live in Milton is for the school district. Schools in Santa Rosa County (Milton) are considered better than schools in Escambia County (where Pensacola is located).
